You’ve been training for how long and why did you start ?
I started when I was about 10 or 11, so about 7 years. The reason I started was because I wanted to be an action star like Arny or Stalone, and I'm one of those people who can be quite determined. These days though I appreciate Bodybuilding on its own merits too though.

Another reason I started is that I had far too much free time.

What is your athletic background? Any particular achievement ?
I've won a few martial arts competitions and was in a small bodybuilding documentary. I haven't really competed properly yet, (although I'm looking to), I've won a few local competitions though and was 'Teen Bodybuilder of the Month' on bodybuilding.com when I was 16. I'm pretty chuffed with that.

What’s your general philosophy in life ? How does training help you in your daily life ?

I have a few philosophies in life, one is to follow your instincts and little inner voice, (I think it's a leprachaun or something... they sit on your shoulder), don't be led astray by others. Bodybuilding, (being hella strong), helps you to do that. Another is to be open, don't lie or keep secrets, as they only build or come back to haunt you. Skeletons in your closet eventually start to stink. Finally, be self reliant and responsible for yourself, if you have a problem - it came from you. If you want to improve life then improve yourself, i.e - get pumping iron! The mind's equally as important though which is why I'm currently studying psychology.

What is your motivation as an athlete? Who’s the person who has influenced / motivated you the most ? Why ?
Sylvester Stalone is one of my biggest role models. Not only does he have pretty much my ideal physique, (see Rambo 3), but he's incredibly talented and determined. He writes many of his own movies and is an artist too. The way he got into the industry is really cool - he wrote the script for Rocky and it was so good that producers kept offering him loads of cash to let them make it, he held out though; until they let him play the lead role. Before that he'd only been in porn...

What kind of training, diet and supplement strategy brought you the best results for fat loss ?
I eat quite freely, I believe that your body tells you when it needs food and when it doesn't. Eat when you're hungry and stop when you're full. I also eat several small meals a day instead of 3 jumbo ones. Although my mini ones kind of constitute a jumbo one for most other people... I also make sure I get at least 7 fruit and veg a day. General health is very important at the moment, especially if you don't want your training impeded by an annoying cold. The best type of CV for me is shadow boxing, it burns callories and tones your whole body.

What kind of training, diet and supplement strategy brought you the best results for muscle gain ?
For mass nothing beats tuna fish. Not only is it delicious and proteinalicious, but it's also good for your brain, for your joints and it can help you live longer thanks to anti-oxants, (or something). I don't really bulk and cut, but instead to try and gradually change my body. This way I don't go through patches of being massively bulky with no definition or being weedy but ripped. I think it's also healthier as it means your weight isn't fluctuating all over the place. I also don't use any supplements or shakes. Mostly because I can't afford them, (student).

Almost all of my phsique comes from bodyweight training. Bodyweight training is incredibly effective, you can do it anywhere, it's free, and it gives you fantastic agility and control over your own body. Pull ups are one of the best excersises for uper body developement. Other excelent ones are dips, inverted shoulder presses, 'walking a bit like a lizard', handstand press ups, 1 legged squats, press ups of course... the list goes on.

What are your strong points (lift or performance and/or bodypart ) ?

Bodypart wise my Pecs definitely out shine the rest, and at the moment I'm pretty pleased with my forearms. Performance wise anything that involves my bodyweight, like walking on my hands or doing backflips!

According to you, who is (or who are) the best reference regarding training, nutrition… ?
I've got a smart book on Bruce Lee's training regime that's very informative and inspirational. The main message I take from that book is to keep experimenting and keep it interesting. Teenbodybuilding.com is also a very good reference point.
